I've been using a new Yoga DVD called Yoga Ma Baby Ga. It's for new moms, but any mom of babies, toddlers and preschoolers will love it. You have three viewing options: Full screen mode for the workout, full screen gorgeous and bright pictures/scenes for the baby to watch, or a combo where the pictures/scenes take most of the screen and a small inset picture shows the workout for mom.
I have to say, I think this idea is brilliant. My little ones are occupied while I get in my yoga. Sometimes we just play the pictures/scenes with the music which they love.
The workout itself is terrific. When I started this workout, I struggled with a sore back and neck plus I wasn't very flexible at all. I immediately felt loosened up and after a few yoga sessions, I can already see a big difference. The workout is challenging, but she shows you how to modify the moves for an easier stretch.
I think yoga is important especially for a mom who nurses and carries a heavy baby/child around. Our bodies can get real sore if we aren't careful and yoga alleviates a lot of the strain. Sometimes it can be hard to find time to workout when a baby or young child demands our attention and this workout offers something to occupy them plus it also invites you to workout with your child.
