Why am I doing the NaNoWriMo?

  • Feeling... sleepy
  • Pondering... how good the inside of my eyelids would look right now
NaNoWriMo stands for National Novel Writing Month where you write a 50,000 word novel in a month.  Yes, it is insane lol.  It is also a blast!  The thrill of typing madly and not worrying about how bad it is or where your characters take you.  Anything goes into your plot as you make the mad dash to the end of the month.  This is an annual event every November and several thousand people are involved this year. :)

I thought about signing up a couple of years ago, but thought it unwise at the time.  Does that mean I have gotten dumber with age?  Who knows, but I joined the ranks of fellow writers knocking out there novel in amonth this year.

Why did I decide this year was the year?  I turned 34 on October 29th and really thought about where I am in life and where I would like to be before I hit 35.  One of those things is to have written a whole novel.  So here I am.   Today is day 3 and I know I will hit my target, but how far past there can I get?  Check back later.

Don't forget to cheer me on...there will be days when I want to forget the whole thing.

**I just realized that my daily goal of 1,600 would put me under the 50,000!  The very minimum a day is 1,667!!  Thankfully the past two nights I have hit above that number.  Phew...I am not behind, but I am so glad I realized my mistake.

New goal: At least 1,667 words a day!  I can do it!  Go me!
