I know, I've been gone waaaay too long this time. Really, after six kids, you'd think I'd be able to bounce back faster. I kept trying to do more than I should and would wear myself right out each time. I'm not a patient person when it comes to recovery. Those of you who know me can stop snickering now.
Anyway, Amber Faith Elizabeth is a delight and we are all in love with her sassy self. I'll be taking lots of pictures this coming week (heading to Montana to visit family) and will get some on here pretty quick when I'm home again (I come home on Mother's Day).
Katrina, my oldest at 16, is in Montana already. My mom visited a couple of weeks ago which was an absolute blast and boy were we spoiled by her. She bought us some clothes and some things for me to decorate in my dining room with, but most of all...she was wonderful and I enjoyed hanging out...especially when she wore her bag of peas on her face (inside joke for those in the know).
So when mom left, Katrina went with her. It was hard to let her go and then it wasn't that big a deal (we missed her, but it wasn't so bad) and now: WE WANT KATRINA BACK! LOL. We are all missing her a bunch. I can't wait to see her tomorrow.
Heather turned 14 yesterday. The poor thing didn't have much of a birth DAY, but we will make it up to her. Daddy came home from his conference last night with a gift: an IPOD. She loves it and hopes to load it today so she can listen to it on our 6 hour trip. (Let's hope it goes better than Gilligan's - his was supposed to only be three hours).
Did I say 6 hours? Yup, I am a brave woman heading out on the highway with five children: a teen, a preteen, an almost 7 year old, a toddler (3) and a baby (10 weeks). Yes, insanity left by child number 3. So far, my children have all traveled well. We are heading out at the crack of dawn and Amber sleeps mostly in the mornings anyway, so it should work out great. I really do wish Bob could make the trip, too. Unfortunately, he can't - which means he can't stop me from spending money - wooohooo.
Just kidding honey. I won't spend - MUCH. It's a good thing this man loves me because love is blind they say. Okay, his eyes are wide open when it comes to me (usually in shock), but he still loves me. What an amazing man.
On a personal note: I'm doing wonderfully. I still get tired if I forget my vitamins or eat too much sugar (my definition of too much keeps changing according to what is in reach). But overall, I'm feeling great and enjoying my new self. I've gotten sassier (can my readers handle it?) and I'm no longer afraid to express myself (look out - her comes the crazy lady!) and I'm just really enjoying life. There is too much around me not to enjoy. That isn't to say there are moments I feel like pulling my hair out (did I mention the teens, pre-teen, toddler and baby?), but life is so good. We can't let it slip away without putting our mark on it at least a few times along the way.
On that note, I have to go and begin the chore of packing, do some shopping, more packing, etc. Love you all and leave a comment about the new look of my blog. I actually made the graphics myself.
